Ever Wanted to Play one of your Favorite Songs on RB2?

Posted by Norman Rhodes On July - 2 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

If some of you haven’t noticed by now, if you go to Rock Bands website you can request a bunch of songs that Harmonix should put in the game! Now, there is no garuntee that it’ll happen, or maybe it will if you request it enough and have a kick ass reason to why it rocks. I myself have taken liberty to send in a bunch of request as well, and hopefully the songs I requested are put up as DLC soon or before they think of another Rock Band game haha.

This Saturday Is Independence Day, What are you doing?

Posted by Norman Rhodes On July - 1 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

So I thought I would start off this month with a question about the 4th of July, where everyone is cooking out and having fun with family. So what will YOU be doing this 4th?

I myself will probably cook-out, shoot off some fireworks and if I have time watch the display from the mall on my T.V.

capitol-fireworks02And Happy 4th of July in advance!

Today, by way of Joystiq via Team Xbox, I have discovered the motherload of all collectors editions for a sports game. If you want, go down to gamestop, or gamecrazy or amazon, where ever you get your games from. Pre-Order NBA 2k10’s Collectors edition, and I’ll tell you why in the image, after the jump!

Slamball, What is this Slamball?

Posted by Norman Rhodes On June - 30 - 20091 COMMENT

You remember Slamball right? You know that sport that was started back in 2001 and premiered on Spike TV? No? You sure? Let me refresh your memory then. Back in 2002, Spike TV brought to us a full contact, high flying, trampoline using sport called SLAMBALL. Its played on a Slamball court that consist of 8 trampolines, 4 at each end. A player scored by using said trampoline to boost themselves into the air to either, shoot, layup or SLAM the ball in for points. Now these aren’t always used, some of these guys still treat it as Basketball as they like to shoot outside of the trampoline for the downtown shot.  The difference between the two sports besides that its full contact, is that its a four on four game, as opposed to the five on five that the NBA has set in regulation. Only after its run on Spike did it air on CSTV, Versus and CBS (currently airing on CBS). It will pick up another network when Family Friendly Cartoon Network picks it up July 11th.

Now I’m not one to judge here but, Slamball, On Cartoon Network? REALLY!? I guess they’re trying to get more people to migrate to this channel that are over the age of 12 and are more the age of 15+. I guess Ted Turner is trying to do something right…but only time will tell with this one. Slamball is a very exciting and innovative concept that has caught the eye of many that has had a chance to watch it. If you haven’t watched it already, your chance comes next month on Cartoon Network, or you can wait for it to show again on CBS?

The Pirate Bay Status: SOLD

Posted by Norman Rhodes On June - 30 - 20091 COMMENT

Popular torrent site, The Pirate Bay has been sold to a company named Global Gaming Factory X (Sounds like a new reality show for MTV or Spike). As we all know back a month ago the two founders of The Pirate Bay were prosecuted and the decision didn’t go in their favor. You can also recall a blog post from TPB that states that TPB may be sold. The thing that gets me is that it took for the events that led up to this for a sell to happen. It kinda reminds me of the Napster situation, one of the biggest P2P Music Sharing Programs out forced into a paid service, and The Pirate Bay is heading in that same direction. Don’t worry though the guys have promised that the money from the sale will go to a worthy cause. To a foundation that is going to help with projects about freedom of speech, openness of the nets and etc. I wish these guys the best of luck with their fight against the legal system and hope they prevail.

Today, Music has lost a legend. The man behind the moonwalks and leg kicks and the single man force behind influencing some of the artist of present day. Michael Jackson is dead, at the ripe age of 50 the Pop Legend leaves behind his music legacy, family and friends. This is indeed a sad day for fans and artist alike. What a week this has been though, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcet, now Michael Jackson.

Norm’s Two Cents: Brett Farve, Give it up already

Posted by Norman Rhodes On June - 22 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

As a football fan, I feel obligated to chime in (late) on this Brett Farve situation that has been going on since Farve’s 2nd retirement. As much of a fan I am of Brett Farve, sometimes you have to know when to hold them, and when to fold them. For Farve, that time is now, when he first came back I was like “are you kidding me” until I saw what he did with the Jets. He had a hell of a season with them, and for that time period I accepted Farve as a main stayer in hopes that he retired and stayed retired at the end of the season. Its been longtime since the end of the season, Farve has once again retired, and yet, talks are going on about Farve coming back…AGAIN. What needs to happen for farve to stay permanently retired.

When Trains Collide

Posted by Norman Rhodes On June - 22 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Today a tragedy has happened, two Red Line Metro trains collided with each other between the Fort Totten and Takoma Stations. 4 people have been confirmed dead while many others are being treated for critical and minor injuries. Being that I live in the Washington D.C. this hits home a bit more for me than other who don’t live within Maryland, Virginia and D.C. This is a sad day for those who’ve lost loved ones and my heart and thoughts go out to them. Right now, Train service is limited from Glenmont to Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Stations and from Shady Grove and Silver Spring stations. Also they are investigating this a homicide situation though it may not be. More news is developing as I type this and to keep up with it, watch the twitters and the www.wmata.com site for more info. As well as CNN and other news outlets.
