PES2010: New Features Confirmed

Posted by Norman Rhodes On August - 19 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Konami, has taken into their hands to provide the world of Soccer/Futbol fans with some confirmed features that YOU are going to see in the new Pro Evolution Soccer game.

· Manual Goalkeepers: PES 2010 will be the only football title to offer users complete control of the keeper. Players can switch to their goalkeeper at any time, and will enjoy total control of his actions.

· New Goalkeeper Moves: Players can now perform quick under-arm throws to their nearest defender to get attacks rolling more quickly.

· All-New Animation: Key animation related to dribbling, running, turning, etc, has been reworked and enhanced, creating a more natural and organic feel to the way players chase down balls, change direction and move around the pitch. The result is a more fluid and natural look to the game.

· Fine-tuned Close Control: The PES Productions team has worked to improve trapping of the ball and basic close control elements, giving the user more ways to spread and move the ball around effortlessly.

· Manual Ball Request:
The ability to demand the ball when running into space is now available to the player, and will be accessible in all game modes, such as multi-player, online, etc.

· Simpler Skills: Moves such as feints, drag backs and upper body feints can be applied more naturally when taking on or trying to beat an opponent. The PES series has long been associated with clever flicks and tricks, and PES 2010 will boast the most to date.

I have to say, as someone who plays FIFA a lot, this looks like a pretty good feature list. Look for PES2010 to hit stores  October 22nd for Multi-Platform.

Norm’s Two Cents: SONY, CONGRATS ON THE RIGHT THING!

Posted by Norman Rhodes On August - 19 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

As everyone heard yesterday, Sony had its press conference at GamesCon. With the rumors of Price Cuts and the PS3 Slim in the air once again going in to this press conference, Sony was left with the task once again of either letting us down like at E3 or delivering the great news. Sony delivered, and now, effective right now as we speak, PS3 is only 299.99 and 399.99 for its 80 and 160 gig systems. It didn’t stop there though, Sony announced the HIGHLY rumored PS3 Slim, which will be available September 1st! One word described how I felt when I got home late last night, OVERJOYED! This is a move Sony SHOULD have made during E3, yet, they make it now. I understand why now, because when reports hit out that manufacturing cost were down by 70% for the PS3, Gamers who wanted this gaming system so bad, called for a price drop to happen. Quite possibly even DEMANDING it. This was a smart move by Sony, who decided to put their money where their mouths are. Not only will this get consoles moving out of retailers, but this will also make back A LOT of money that Sony lost in due time. Speaking as someone who works in retail, THANK YOU, speaking as a gamer, OMG THANK YOU SONY. The saving spree, I’m about to go on will be one for the ages to get me a PS3 Slim or 80GB System.

With the release of the new dashboard update for Xbox 360 that has the latest addition of their Games On Demand. It got me thinking, with all of these games they’re going to give us through this, how would we continuously store all these great games!? Being that downloading is pretty much the present and future of not only Music and Movies, but Gaming. I think it would be time for Microsoft to step up and give us another option of a bigger harddrive for our Xbox 360’s. Sure, 120GB is cool until all of the downloads catch up with you, and I’m one person that likes to put nearly EVERY game onto my harddrive to make sure no scratches or hiccups happen.

With games ranging from anywhere between 4GB to 8GB, soon not even the 120GB harddrive will be able to contain all of these games. How to solve this you say? Bring out anywhere between 200-400GB Harddrive, or offer a service where people can send in their harddrives and have them upgraded by Microsoft for a fee. These are ways that the XBOX 360 can not only show the PS3 who’s boss without having the major power under the hood. Being able to upgrade your harddrive on PS3 is one of its biggest pluses, and is one of the easiest things to do. So, Microsoft, Step up your game and give us something worth talking about that isnt avatars or dashboard updates.
