It seems Codemasters are stepping away from the simulation rally game and bringing us an arcade version of their popular DiRT game. Today DiRT Showdown was announced as an arcade entry that will feature 8 player multi-player and 3 racing modes. The three racing modes are Standard Racing, Stunt Racing, and Destruction. GameSpot has a complete hands-on with the game over at their site, but before you go over there you should look at this trailer.

The game launches in May of 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
