We normally don’t post Tech news on the site, but when we do its important. I know this started out like a meme you’ve seen on 4chan or reddit or tumblr. However, we feel this is just important enough to report on. ICANN, which is one of the biggest domain registrars in the world has confirmed that they will work closely with governments around the world to help them seize and censor domains. This action follows their decision to release a white paper that was pretty much a how-to manual for governments to seize domains easier. This is pretty major being we JUST went through the last six months talking about SOPA and PIPA being a threat to internet freedom and now we have this going on. However, I don’t think this is something that we can sway because the damage has already been done as they say.
