Lawsuit Filed Against Sony’s Anti-Class Action Clause
Remember that TOS you accepted to continue playing games online on PlayStation 3? Well what you possibly didn’t know is that you waived the right to file a class action lawsuit against them just in case another one of those hacking’s happened again. I’m sure it goes a little deeper than that, but I’m not a lawyer and I usually don’t follow this. However for people who do, suit was filed in California court against Sony over that very clause. The suit filed claims that Sony engaged in unfair business practice by FORCING their customers to choose between having no access to the PSN or waiving the right to a class-action lawsuit. This suit also mentions the option that Sony gives people to opt out of the clause. If this goes through, we can only hope that the judge see’s it our way and reverses the TOS clause.
